How we make a difference

Africa Works is an income-generation project of Rays of Hope that reaches out to unemployed women from Alexandra township. The project was founded in 2011 with the vision of impacting the cycle of unemployment, poverty and desperation in the community.

Our Stories

We aim not only to help unemployed women earn a living, but to provide encouragement and a sense of hope, helping to restore their self-esteem.

Our Projects

Members of Africa Works are taught to weave bags out of polypropylene strapping and to crochet.

Africa Works aims to economically empower the impoverished community of Alexandra and transform lives. Our two core projects are bag works and crochet works.
